Rogaland Teater is one of Norway’s leading theatres with 4 stages and 100 employees,
Rogaland Teater in Stavanger in western Norway. We produce approximately 18 productions a year. We have about 550 performances and perform to an audience of 80.000.
Rogaland has a busy children and youth theatre department with 320 members, it has been an integrated part of the theatre since 1957. All members get weekly training. Every year 6-8 of Rogaland’s productions have children and young people performing. Either along with the adult actors or in our youth and children production.
We also work with local schools, kindergartens and universities, making theatre more accessible for children, young people and their teachers.
We are partners the national new writing project DUS (The young stage). Rogaland is the development hub for writers and directors on the DUS project. Which serves 80 youth theatres all over the country and delivers the regional and national festival.
During the years, the children and youth theatre has initiated and taken part in numerous international projects, from exchanges to festivals in Europe and beyond.
