The BUZZ Network will map Youth Theatre groups who:
- Have a commitment to making theatre with, by (and for) young people. Where the young participants are co-creators of an artistic output/performance.
- Young people’s voices are central to the work that is created. Guided by the principle that children and young people are first and foremost fully-fledged people with a corresponding emotional and mental world.
- Groups work with artists/leaders who have appropriate theatre training/experience and utilise this experience to benefit the young people they work with.
- Groups have an inclusive ethos and a commitment to representing diversity of society and broadening access for all young people who wish to participate.
- Where possible groups should (strive to) create a professional context in which to present work, with artistic quality and ambition, appropriate safeguarding policies and procedures, and effective evaluations systems.
- Commitment to see Youth Theatre as a high quality, artistic but independent branch of performance.
- Young people take part in activity regularly.
- Offer performance as a part of the workshop
